Zillow.com is live!

Finally, after 11 months of gestation, Zillow.com is live! Go check it out. Its got tons of info on over 62 million homes in the US and current valuations for around 47 million homes. Thats more data coverage than you'll see anywhere else. I've been up all night launching it, and now we're seeing an immense amount of traffic. Ill write more after Ive gotten a little shut-eye.

My old site resurrected

I finally resurrected my long lost site, kyusik.com. Ive put up some new things there, such as some short notes on mortgage rates and option arms, two things Ive had to look into lately. Ive also had to get into landlord/tenant laws...but thats another story.

Celina in Seattle

Met up with Celina in Seattle. She was up here doing some kind of workshop on photo journalism. I got to look at some more of her photos. I love this one. It really feels like the crosses are being overwhelmed, drowning in the sea of grass. These are plain, nameless graves, fading away.

SIFF is coming!

photos from india

I finally posted my photos from our March trip to the Rajasthan desert region of India. 170 photos. Whew! Hey, at least I didnt post all 400+ photos!

the startup

In case I havent gotten around to letting any of you know....I recently left Expedia to join a little startup called Zillow. Its in downtown Seattle, which is great compared to being out in Bellevue. It was founded by some of the founders of Expedia. There are about 20 of us there now and we're hoping to at least double in size by year's end. You can find a little about us online, but we're still in stealth mode. Ill let you know when we get something out the door. All I can say is that Im having a blast.

Artist Highlight: Vienna Teng

The Official Vienna Teng Website

Ive been listening to Vienna Teng since she released her first album. If you like Tori Amos, youll like Vienna. She has an amazing voice and plays the piano. Her lyrics are not as cryptic as Tori's, but somehow profound. Not convinced? She has some free MP3s on her site.

I went to listen to her when she visited Seattle and played at the Triple Door. Listening to her live was awesome. Shes got a nice, easy personality on stage and had some great stories to share. The Triple Door was also an interesting venue. Its intimate in size (seating for maybe a 100-200?) and ambience. It consists of dinner tables and booths underground. The food they serve there is sadly subpar, but thats not what youre there for, at least not when someone like Vienna is performing.

Vienna is a high school friend of my old roommate's, so he told me when she quit Cisco (she was a Software Engineer) and released her first album. Her second album is out now, and while I still prefer the first album as a whole, the new one has some real gems.

Check it out.

Here I am...

Late at night and working...again...

I got bored so I figured Id start a blog, and where better than blogger? This isnt really how I want to blog - I want to go through the exercise of writing my own app, hosting it on my own servers, etc. Lots of fun stuff that I unfortunately have no time for, it seems (at least not in the last 3 years).

Anyway...this is it for now.
